The Divine Form of Panchamukhi Anjaneya
The main idol of Panchamukhi Anjaneya at Hanumagiri is 12 feet tall and is beautifully carved from a single black stone (monolith). This unique idol features five divine faces Lord Narasimha facing South, Lord Garuda facing West, Lord Varaha facing North, Lord Hayagriva facing upwards (Urdhva), Lord Anjaneya facing the center.
This powerful form of the Lord is world famous for removing the ill effects of Shani Dosha.
The Promise of Protection
According to the sacred history of this temple, this is the holy place where Lord Anjaneya revealed his majestic Panchamukhi (five faced) form to Lord Shani Dev. Impressed by this divine sight, Lord Shani gave a promise (Abhaya) that he would never trouble those who sincerely pray to and serve Panchamukhi Anjaneya.
